Yu-Chien Tseng (violin), laureate of the International Tchaikovsky Competition, and Hong Kong Sinfonietta conducted by Yip Wing-sie for the first time in Poland, as part of the Lublin Edition of the 21st Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival.

 

From 2 to 4 April 2017, Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival will premiere at the Centre for the Meeting of Cultures in Lublin. Festival provides an opportunity for the Lublin citizens to immerse in the rich repertoire of classical music performed by the most outstanding groups from all over the world. Regarding its culture-forming role in Poland and abroad, it is also an opportunity to promote Lublin and, in this context, to rank it in the high position compared to other cities. During the Lublin edition of the Festival, we will hear three world class groups that will present the transversal repertoire of the classical music.

Ludwig van Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D Major Op. 61

Hong Kong Sinfonietta is nowadays one of the best orchestras in Hong Kong. It is conducted by a recognized conductor Yip Wing-sie. Sinfonietta is known for its energetic concerts and innovative programs. Orchestra regularly cooperates with eminent musicians from all around the world, e.g., Vladimir Ashkenazy, Plácido Domingo, Christopher Hogwood, Luciano Pavarotti and groups, such as Balet Bolshoy, English National Ballet and Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch.

 

Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival took place, for the first time in history, in 1997 and commemorated the 170th anniversary of the death of the creator of the Symphony No. 9. It became a permanent and important element of the cultural life of Europe. Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe EFFE (Gent) appreciated its importance and admitted it to the Association in October 2001.

The programme of every edition of the Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival (held for the first 7 years in Krakow, and since 2004 in Warsaw) is different and shows achievements of European music in an interesting and varied manner. Every edition shows the music of Beethoven from different perspectives and allows the listeners to perceive his inspirations, the impact of his music on creators from different eras and the place of Beethoven in the world of contemporary art and in contemporary world alike.
